Submit To The Boss Lucia And August Novel Chapter 892 – The Man I Mentioned to You
Tina’s eyes flickered. She walked over with steady steps. All her attention was on Marlena the entire time. She occasionally glanced at August in a way as if she was trying to pry into something. She sat down, greeted them, and fell silent.
Marlena held onto her mother’s arm and chattered, “Mom, this is Joe, the man I mentioned to you.” Tina smiled, but her eyes remained empty. We’ve met in the garden this afternoon.” “That’s wonderful, Mom. Terry interposed, “Tina, Marlena.”
Their attention was caught. He raised his glass that was filled with wine and shook it. “Starting today, Joe will take over part of my work.”
He stressed his tone for the ending part and overserved Tina’s expression. Her eyelids drooped when she heard that.
She knew what Terry meant. Joe wasn’t an employee of Terry’s company. The work he handed over to Joe should be part of his shady business. Over the years, she had interfered with his illegal business.
Whenever she struck, there were few survivors. If Joe was in charge, she would find it hard to intervene. Her eyelids twitched, but her attitude was nonchalant. “Really? Congratulations, Joe is an outstanding man.”
Delighted to hear that, Terry tossed off the wine in the crystal glass. As expected, Tina would not interfere if Joe oversaw the business. The reason was simple. Tina’s love for her daughter was morbid. She was willing to do anything to make Marlena happy.
“Joe, do your best and impress me,” Terry laughed. August curled his lips. “I will.” Marlena glared at Terry and huffed, “Joe will do a good job. Don’t underestimate him.” In a good mood, Terry talked more than usual although he disliked Marlena, “I’m looking forward to it.
Marlena, you should do better since you like Joe so much.” “For sure.” The four people had different thoughts, but the scene was harmonious. Lucia
tried to join their conversation but failed. She seemed to be sidelined.
She turned to look at August who seemed to pay no attention to her the entire time.
She felt bitter, stared at the steak on the plate, and heavily cut it with the knife.
“Lu…” Daryl noticed her bad mood and almost blurted out her real name. In a hurry, she corrected herself and said,
“Vivian, don’t worry.” She squeezed Lucia’s leg under the table, reminding Lucia to stay calm.
Lucia smiled, “I’m okay.”
