Edmund lowered his eyes without responding to her. Recently, the distance between them had been getting closer, and he believed he just needed a chance to confirm their relationship as a couple now. If Lucia knew he had joined hands with Currer, the consequences would be disastrous.
Seeing him hesitating, Lucia showed undisguised disappointment on her face. She slowly withdrew her hand from his arm and forced a smile, saying, “Go

Currer. So, he let go of her hand, wrapped his hand around her slender waist,
and lowered his voice as much as possible to gently comfort her, saying, “She is
just a business partner. Don’t be nervous…”
He abruptly stopped speaking when turning to look at the appointed table.
August indifferently looked at the two people entering the door side by side,
stretched out his arm around Currer’s shoulders, and asked in a deep voice, “Is
this the cooperation you mentioned? Or is this your way of getting rid of Lucia?”
Currer did not know how to react for a while, letting Edmund and Lucia sit
opposite the table. And then, the four of them looked at each other in silence.
Only August remained calm, and the atmosphere was inexplicably awkward. In
the end, he broke the eerie silence in a cold voice, saying, “Mr. Shea, do you
know the purpose of today’s meeting? I’m afraid it is inconvenient to let this lady
participate.”
When facing August, there was always hostility in Edmund’s eyes. He slowly
smiled and responded coldly, “When Miss Sullen asked me out, she didn’t tell me
how many people would attend the meeting.”
After finishing speaking, he immediately wrapped her arm around Lucia’s
shoulders, pulled her into his arms, and said proudly like a winner, ‘Sorry, I forgot
to introduce my fiancée to you. This is Lucia Mitchell.”

possible.’
Hearing this, Currer understood what he meant. Seeing Lucia and Edmund
snuggling up to each other, she relaxed her vigilance a little. Her ultimate goal
was to get rid of this b*tch in her way, and it would be wonderful if she could sit
idle and profit from others’ toil. Now that Edmund had gotten engaged to Lucia,
the latter could no longer seduce August or Reggio. For Currer, it was killing two
