woman who was protected by August. She hadn’t expected her to be so
explosive in such a situation.
Lucia swaggered forward, looked at her arrogantly, and said in a cold voice, First,
you seduced a married man. After all, you’re his mistress and I’m his
wife. Second, you slandered me for having an affair with another man. It’s easy
to find out who got this room even if it was not you.”
Currer frowned subconsciously. Her eyes turned red quickly as if she had been
slandered as she asked August in an injured voice, “August, you know why we’re
here. How can you watch Lucia slander me?”
Lucia was disappointed. She wanted August to explain to her instead of being as
indifferent as if it were she who had started it all. She took a deep breath and
lowered her voice. “Are you done talking?”
“Hmm.” August looked up at her with suspicion in his eyes.
Lucia forced a smile and reached for him. “Then let’s go home…”
August rose gracefully, ignored her hand, and walked out of the room. Lucia
followed him disappointedly and sent a message to Paula.
Neither of them spoke on the way back to the Adams villa.
It wasn’t until the door to the study opened and closed that Lucia asked in a
