As he uttered the word one by one, the light in his eyes became brighter and brighter while his voice was heavy with seriousness.

“Mom, you’re back! Janet was just feeling sick. Let’s go home quickly.” Lucia’s face went taut instantly when she heard Timothy’s words. “What’s
troubling you, darling?” She then went over to Janet and asked anxiously.
Actually, Janet was having fun with Phillip and when she heard what Timothy
said, she shot a knowing glance at her brother.
“Ouch! Mom, I might have eaten the wrong thing. My belly hurts just now.” Janet
quickly caught on to what Timothy was doing and then feigned illness.
She made it like she was really ill suddenly, and she even shed tears before
Lucia to add authenticity. Janet knew that she had her mom for Lucia took her
into the crook of her arms at once and then looked at Edmund with eyes full of
apology.
Edmund had to admit that he lost to the two kids completely.
He forced a reluctant smile at Lucia, “Now that Janet feels ill, I think you’d better
take them home as soon as possible, I’m fine.”
Hearing this, Lucia heaved a sign of relief in her heart. After a few words of
apology, Lucia took Janet and Timothy away immediately. As they left, the
expressions on the face of Janet and Timothy captured Edmund’s attention.

Lucia sped Janet and Timothy home out of concern. But Janet regained her vigor
the moment that they reached home, showing no trace of illness. Lucia shook her
head resignedly with a smile at the kicking girl, then devoted herself to work
again.
After Lucia left, Timothy got into a huddle with Janet.
Janet, learning that Phillip’s father had an intention of chasing her mother, pouted

covets mom and robs mom of you?”

Before Timothy finished his words, August cut in abruptly with a cold voice. “And,
why do you raise such a pointless speculation?”
Timothy leveled with August after a while of hesitation. “I believe
that there is true love between you and mom, but you still should be cautious and
guard against that kind of thing for I’m afraid that Edmund may use his own son
and mom’s kind nature to fasten on
mom.” Added Timothy with a serious face.
August was surprised by Timothy because he didn’t expect that he could draw
such a thoughtful reflection at such a young age. “Timothy, did you promise me
that you will protect mom forever?” Said August slowly.
Timothy gave a heavy nod at August’s words and pledged again.
“You have my word! And I won’t allow anyone else to approach
mom with malicious motives and ruin our family.”
His voice was still young, but the solemn face he wore was a little
bit beyond his age.
August, amused by his earnest remark, produced a faint smile.
August’s words eased Timothy’s anxiety greatly. After a greeting, he went
downstairs. As he landed his eyes on Janet, who was playing on the carpet, an
idea crossed his mind.
He then pulled Janet close to him and said to her mysteriously,
“Janet, have you ever thought that what if Mr. Edmund keeps latching on mom?”
“Mom won’t like that weirdo! I know she loves dad most!” Janet
insisted, rather firmly.
“I mean, what if,” Timothy said with an astute light in his eyes. “So, how about we
find some way to promote their intimacy?” The memory of Lucia dining with
Edmund struck Janet suddenly
when she heard that. “You are right! We need to deepen their
relationship!”
An idea simultaneously floated into their minds as they exchanged
a look. putting their head against each other, they started to work on their plan.
The night was pressing up against the Windows when Lucia was
plugging away at her work. It had been a long time for work and she needed
some stretch of her limbs. Rising from her chair, Lucia walked toward August’s
study.
“Still in work?” As she entered the study, she came behind August
directly. “Come on, we are going to have dinner now, Janet and Timothy are
waiting for us.” Saying, Lucia’s hands traveled from his defined jaw into thick hair
