Submit To The Boss Lucia And August Novel Chapter 783 – Are you making up with me?

“Here you are. Mom asked me to bring it to you.” While saying this, Timothy put the milk on the table. August’s face was gloomy and didn’t show any drunkenness. He gave a low “OK” as a response after his eyes glanced at the milk on the table.

Seeing this, Timothy deliberately sighed with mock melancholy, sat on the sofa beside August, and murmured, “Dad, do you think mom attracts people’s
affection easily.”

August’s eyes slowly landed on this little one. It seemed that he didn’t want to talk to Timothy, but was somewhat curious about what Timothy would say next. “If I had such a wife, I would be very uneasy, too.” He held his chin in his hands, and his face was full of childish innocence.

August spoke in a cold voice, “Let’s talk straight, there’s no need to beat around the bush.” Timothy knew well that he was not a match for his shrew father. But it was necessary to do the right thing. It would be unconvincing to go straight to the point without foreshadowing.

At the thought of this, Timothy’s face raised an innocent and pure smile, which looked very cute. “Mom is in a persistent and independent personality. No matter what difficulties she gets into, she wants to solve them herself. She doesn’t want to bother you atall.

Maybe you would constantly feel frustrated because you have no room to play your talents.” Timothy appeared serious and muttered in a low voice.
His voice was neither too loud nor too low as if it were meant for August.

As it was presupposed, as Timothy’s immature voice slowly sounded, August’s
face became more and more gloomy.
Though August didn’t get the feeling of frustration, Lucia’s stubborn character
was true. She never caused any trouble to others. No matter what happened,
she would grit her teeth and carry everything on her own.
Seeing the slight change in August’s look, Timothy’s eyes got brighter. He
reminded softly, “Mom has had a hard time going to the party today, and Janet
was pestering her just now …”

Before he could finish, a cold light flashed in August’s eyes, “You know about her
going to the party of the political circle?”
Timothy nodded, put on a puzzled and curious look, and asked, “It’s not to do
something wrong. Why can’t let us know?”
After that, he mocked, “Is it because you failed to carry out your duty of caring
about mom if you don’t know it?”

“Go on.” Despite knowing that he had something in his words, August chose to
deliberately ignore the sparkle in Timothy’s eyes.
Then Timothy loudly explained, “I heard that my mother went there specially for
the customs documents. She attached great importance to this party of the
political circle and was very cautious for fear that something might happen and
delay the company’s business.”
August lowered his eyes after he heard it. His face was devoid of emotions.

Timothy stopped it here and said good night to him, then ran out of the study.
The lighter’s voice rang in the empty room. The smoke curled up along his
knotted fingers and gradually dissipated in the air.
Timothy’s words lingered on August’s mind, making his heart become trapped
and his mood irritated.

Finally, with a frown, he put out the half-burned cigarette, walked out of the study
with a heavy step, and then gently pushed open the door of the master bedroom.
Shallow breathing echoed in the quiet room, and the woman on the bed curled
up into a small ball and seemed to have fallen asleep.
August walked slowly to the bed, lifted the corner of the quilt, and lay beside her.
His action was very light for fear of waking her up.
Lucia couldn’t help but hold the quilt corner on her side. She closed her eyes and
carefully control her breathing. Until she perceived that there was no other
movement of the other one she slowly opened her eyes and gazed out of the
window at the moonlight with empty eyes.

The next second, a big cold hand slowly encircled her waist.
Her body froze. A feeling of being wronged welled up in her heart and tears were
about to stream from her face as her nose twitched. She held back the impulse to
cry, turned around, and buried her head in August’s strong chest.
“The customs documents have been settled smoothly, so don’t worry.”
She buried her head deeper when she heard this and said with an apologetic
tone, “What happened today…”

“I was the one to be blamed for not understanding you.” August’s low and
magnetic voice slowly sounded in her ear, “I appreciate what you have done
today.”
Lucia was slightly dazed. A sweet feeling touched the softest part of her heart. It
was the first time she heard him say such words. She couldn’t help giggling when
she thought of it.
In the dark, her eyes flickered. She rubbed his jaw with her head and asked
softly, “Are you making up with me, Mr. Adams?”

Before Lucia’s words fell, August’s hand had passed through Lucia’s soft hair and
got her head leaning against his chest again. He continued with a heavy voice,
“Get to sleep early.”
Her lips slowly evoked a smile. Listening to the strong heartbeat in her ear, Lucia
closed her eyes again. She slept soundly and didn’t wake up until her cell phone
rang at the head of the bed the next morning.

She groped for her mobile phone and got through it. When she heard Paula’s
voice coming from the other end, she felt a little overwhelmed.
Wasn’t Paula supposed to be in the Vordan Pavilion or eating downstairs at this
hour?
“Lucia, come to the First Hospital quickly. Something has happened to my little
sister-in-law!” Paula’s shrill voice pierced through the air and reached Lucia’s
ears.

Lucia’s eyes widened in an instant. Her sleepiness was completely gone and she
sat up in shock. She didn’t even have time to ask what had happened before she
dragged August to rush to the hospital after a simple morning wash-up.
Daryl lay, in the hospital bed. No other signs of illness except that her face was
extremely pale. She appeared in a quiet deep sleep. Paula stayed at the
bedside, and her eyes were full of worry.
Hearing the sound of footsteps, Paula’s dull eyes turned slightly. When she saw
that the person at the door was Lucia, her eyes immediately turned red.

Lucia made a gesture of “hush” and beckoned Paula to the corridor. Then Lucia
lowered her voice and asked, “What’s going on?”
“This morning, I called to talk to my little sister-in-law. Dianna had been
prevaricating. Finally, when she couldn’t hide it anymore, she told me that my
little sister-in-law was here …”
Paula choked, and explained in a low voice, “The doctor said it was a fall from a
high place, and her brain was severely damaged. It is unknown when she will
wake up.”

Hearing this, Lucia’s eyebrows locked tightly, and looked at August.
Before Lucia knew it, her cold hands had been tightly held. August’s steady voice
slowly sounded, “I will arrange for the best brain doctor to come as soon as
possible.”
Paula could wake up after the car accident, and so could Daryl.
When Lucia lifted her head, her eyes met with that of August and Lucia turned a
little easy in her heart. After she calmed down, the more she thought about it, the
stranger it seemed to her.

“Daryl has been living in the Thomas family. What kind of height can cause such
serious consequences?” She murmured in a cold voice.
Paula was also lost in thought. After a long time, Paula clenched her fists. “My
brother has gone to investigate this matter, and there should be a result soon.”

However, when Paula mentioned Paul, Lucia’s face was even more bitter. She
sneered, “Paul was the one who should be suspected the most. You’re actually
counting on him to find out anything!”
While they were talking, Paul’s hurried figure appeared in their sight.
