Submit To The Boss Lucia And August Novel Chapter 600 – The Good
Chapter 600 The Good News! Paul stiffened with an uneasy look. As he slowly moved away from Lucia, he grimly turned
back to Paula, who appeared so abruptly, in at cold voice, “What are you doing here?!”
His attempt of an intimate contact with Lucia was totally ruined by Paula’s breaking in Paula went up to Lucia with a snort and protested righteously, “It’s said you bullied Lucia yesterday.”
“I…” Paul broke off as he had to admit he was in the wrong. He knew he was being too harsh to Lucia with the ruthless remark yesterday,
but did his sister have to pick such a moment to scold him?
Lucia tugged Paula’s sleeve lightly, explaining with a smile, “We’ve settled the issue. And here’s good news for you.” “What’s it?” asked Paula curiously. Lucia only grinned quietly. She then jutted her chin towards Paul.
Paula looked along the direction of her gaze at Paul. “What good news will he bring me?” Paula snorted. Paul frowned a little and mouthed something reluctantly. “Are you determined to be with Burton?” he finally asked after some hesitation.
“Yes.” Paula answered without thinking. “Or you think I’m kidding?” The knot in Paul’s forehead got tighter as he remained silent.
His grimness got Paula rattled. Having swallowed drily, she added, “Paul, I’m informing you here that Burton and I have registered.
What’s done cannot be undone. Don’t try to persuade me to divorce. Burton is the one I chose!” Paul finally reacted as he looked up a little at Paula with a significant expression on the face. “I approve of your marriage.” he said slowly. “What you said?”
Paula gawked at him in astonishment after a long pause. “I said I agree.” Paul repeated in a low voice. “For real?” Paula jumped up, squealing with delight. She held Lucia into her arms before Paul could make any response, “Did you hear it, Lucia? Paul said he approves of my marriage!”
Lucia almost fell apart being shaken by Paula so ecstatically. “I heard it.” Lucia laughed with resignation, “I told you it’s good news,
isn’t it?” Paula embraced her again. “Lucia, you are always bringing me good luck!”
Paul shook his head while giving an indulgent smile to them. “Paula, why don’t you seize the time to plan for your wedding now?” he
reminded when he was leaving the balcony.
“What? Wedding?” That came as another surprise for Paula that night. She just couldn’t stop laughing as she held Lucia’s hands. “Lucia,
how amazing we are going to hold our weddings together!” “Indeed!” Lucia nodded merrily.
Her hands swinging jubilantly, Paula finally remembered to call Burton up to
inform him of the good news. She then decided to stay with
Lucia for the night, so as to pour out all her anticipation enthusiastically during
the bedtime.
Before Lucia and Paula went to bed, Paul came in with a knock at the door and
left them a credit card and a name card. “Here you are. You
two could pick up some jewelry and dresses tomorrow. Just use my credit card. I
also made a reservation with a wedding dress studio for
you, yet I’m so sorry but I’ve got some business to attend to tomorrow. But you
two could have a check there first.”
“Being so nice to me?” Paula’s eyes popped at his words incredulously. “Are you
really my brother?”
Paul gave her a jocosely reproachful glance. “Who else could I be?”
“But my brother has never been so kind to me!” Paula’s voice was suffused with
excitement.
Paul ignored her and turned to Lucia in a much softer voice, “Take a rest tonight.
Leave the chores of the wedding to me, and your only
job is to be a beautiful bride.” Light as his tone was, his words were so
significant. Lucia nodded bashfully.
Looking at the couple, Paula almost melted by their sweet communication. When
Paul finally left the room, Paula whispered to Lucia,
“Can you two be even sweeter? You just enchant Paul, huh?” Paula touched
Lucia’s shoulder with hers joyfully.
Lucia flushed at once. “You are exaggerating.” she drawled.
Paula stretched out her hand to point at Lucia’s cheeks. “Look how bright pink
they are!”
They two didn’t go to bed until they’d had an exciting long chat.
The next morning, Lucia was awakened by someone who was trying to pull her
up from the bed. “High time to get up now, Lucia!” Paula shouted.
-Lucia strived to open her bleary eyes, just to find Paula standing in front of her, who was
already well preened. “Still quite early, isn’t it?”
Lucia frowned.
“It’s over seven now! Don’t forget our crucial business today!” Paula was swinging the
name card of the wedding dress studio to Lucia.
Lucia turned over and closed her eyes, murmuring, “Can you let me sleep for another
hour?” Yet hardly had the finished her words, she
was tugged up from the bed.
“Get up now, Lucia! We will have to get down to the most important thing in my life…”
shouted Paula.
One hour later, they were on their way to the wedding dress studio. The staff there were
so professional and patient that they
accompanied them all along from the reception to the related explanation of sample
dresses. When the two girls took off the seventh
dress they’d tried, they themselves were just dog-tired.
After having lunch in the studio, they went to a cafe for a rest. Before long Paula was
brimful of energy again. “Could we set off to check
the jewelry now, Lucia?” she suggested.
“Now?” Lucia really envied Paula’s endless enthusiasm as though she would never get
tired. “Come one! My feet are still aching!”
protested Lucia.
“Of course now!” Paula blinked naughtily. “Paul has never been so generous to me. I shall
not waste such a rare opportunity to make full
use of his credit card today!”
Seeing her complacent manners, Lucia laughed with resignation. “All right. I may as well
go as your companion.” she shook her head. Lucia’s phone buzzed at that moment. It was
from August, as she checked the screen. Lucia’s body stiffened as she became flustered
instantly. Why was he calling now? She was hesitating whether to answer it or not.
Paula had been several steps ahead. She turned back to urge, “What are you doing there,
Lucia?”
Lucia suddenly woke up from her thoughts and tucked the phone, which was still buzzing,
into her handbag before she hurried to catch up with Paula.
he thought it would be wiser
not to answer it since she had no idea of August’s intention of calling her.
