Submit To The Boss Lucia And August Novel Chapter 598 – Double Blessings

Lucia hurtled straight into her room and locked the door. Leaning against the door and breathing heavily, she began ruminating on Paul’s
remark. Paul had been so accommodating in the past five years. Never was there any dustup between them, nor had he reproached her.

But today he just acted differently. Lucia now felt her heart clutched at by a weird feeling There then came the light footfall from outside, which seemed to be approaching as Lucia could hear it clearly at the door.

It then stopped in front of her door, only followed by an awkward silence. Lucia knew it must be Paul. Their confrontation just resulted in a
stalemate now, with neither one willing to break the ice by touching the door.

There were footsteps again after quite a while, which trailed away in despair. With a breath of relief, Lucia went to her bed, though with a little disappointment.

Unexpectedly, the matter of Paula and Burton led to the dispute between Paul and her, which just turned out to be a mess that ailed her so
much.

The notification tone of the phone on the table kept popping out and torturing Lucia’s nerves, she resolutely turned it off before she went
to sleep. The next morning, Lucia was wakened by her mother’s loud knocks at the door. “Lucia, get up quickly!”

Elisa shouted outside as Lucia turned over on the bed, “Are you sure you don’t want to come out? Paula is here.” Lucia sat up with a shudder and opened the door, staring at her mother with her bleary eyes. “What you said, Mom?”

Elisa frowned at the messy hair of her daughter. “How can you be sleeping in till now! Paula has been waiting for you downstairs for a
quarter!” “Paula is here?” Lucia scratched her head.

“She comes to check your situation because none of her calls could get through.” said Elisa. “She even brings some gifts for the three kids
and us.” Lucia took a deep breath. “I’ll get down as soon as possible.”

She then finished the washing quickly and went downstairs just in her
pajamas.
Paula was playing with the three kids on the sofa in the living room. She
beckoned Lucia at the sight of her.
“What brings you here?” Lucia went up with a smile.

“Because you didn’t answer any of my calls!” Paula blinked and then became
serious, “I’m really worried about you, so I hurried here to
have a check.” She then approached with a whisper before Lucia could make
any response, “Did Paul make it hard for you? The servant
told me he left early this morning…”

“Nothing.” Lucia took a drink of the water, though her face still appeared quite
grim.
Conscious of Lucia’s uneasiness, Paula demanded, “You don’t look well. There
must have been a quarrel between Paul and you, right?” Facing Paula’s fusillade
of questions, Lucia decided to tell her the truth. Holding the glass of water, Lucia
said with a gasp, “Paul said.

I’m not in the position to meddle with the affair of the Thomas family.”
“What?!” Paula exclaimed with her wide eyes. “Paul really said that?”
Lucia nodded after a slight pause. That remark did hurt her badly.
Paula rose to her feet abruptly, snarling, “I’ll get him to account for that!”
“What are you doing!” Lucia held Paula back as soon as she got around.

“I’m going to get him to explain what he meant.” Paula’s forehead knotted in a
frown. “How could he say that! You are not only my best
friend, but his wife! Why can’t his wife interfere in his family issues?!”
After some consideration, Lucia explained seriously, “There would only be
adverse effects if he thinks I deliberately complain it to you.
Just leave it to us.”

With a deflated sigh, Paula finally said with a guilty look, “It’s my bad. If I hadn’t
got you to help me with the passport, Paul wouldn’t
have staged the row with you.” She then lowered her head as her eyes reddeningLucia paused to stare at Paula in surprise, “Why are you crying, Paula…” Paula had never
been so emotional as to weep at a minor
matter. How strong and no-nonsense she used to be in Lucia’s impression!
“Why?” Paula looked up with her tearful eyes, appearing so pathetic.

Lucia burst into laughter and joked, “Look at you, Paula. You are just like a little woman
after getting married!”
Paula paused and got bashful instantly. “What are you talking about! It’s you who’s like a
little woman, OK?” she jocosely reproached. The atmosphere finally livened up as they
quibbled cheerfully. Elisa brought them a plate of fruit solicitously, “You girls may as well
stop to have some refreshment.”

Passing them the little forks, Elisa got herself seated on the sofa opposite to them. “Paula,
I smell something auspicious from you,” she
asked, “as you looks truly radiant recently.”
Paula only smiled coyly. Lucia turned to Paula. With an exchange of glance, they both
grinned. There was a significant touch in Lucia’s.
eyes.

After a slight pause, Paula told Elisa lightly, “I’ve just got registered….”
Elisa was surprised. She hastened to ask fondly, “Registered for marriage?”
Paula nodded shyly.
Elisa laughed. “What a good thing! Does Paul know it? And when are you going to hold
the wedding? Oh, what about the wedding photos…”

The stream of questions almost got Paula to stammer. Lucia hurried to stop her mother,
“Mom, please! Look, you’ve made her flush!” Elisa didn’t realize that but for Lucia’s
reminding. “Oh yes…” she nodded.

“I’m so carried away!” Though she was still murmuring
excitedly, “Double blessings, aren’t they?”

Elisa then suddenly looked up with her shining
eyes as something occurred to her, “Why don’t you hold the weddings together?”

“Weddings?” Paula was puzzled as she turned to Lucia, “Are you going to hold a wedding
too?”
