Lucia’s mind was in a mess, and all the information flashed through her mind. She shook er head and suppressed the suspicions in her mind. She smiled at the man and thanked him, then left with her phone. Lucia walked quickly to the hospital.
Questions popped up in her mind one after another, but she couldn’t figure them out. What she had just heard about August’s death was like a
big stone, lying in her heart and suffocating her. Even so, she still did not believe that a man as firm as August would pass away like that.
He was not a man who gave up lightly, he should have survived! She didn’t believe it. Absolutely not! When she arrived at the door of Paula’s ward, she took a deep breath, adjusted her expression, and pushed the door open. Because this was the most upscale ward, it had several rooms.
As soon as she entered, she saw a small living room, and Paula’s ward
was right next to it.
At that moment, Paul was sitting on the sofa reading a book with Timothy and Janet.

Timothy and Janet wrapped their arms around her legs and pampered her with their baby
voices. Lucia lowered her head and looked at the two children who were cute, like little
angels. For some reason, she thought of August, and her heart ached again.
She bit her lip and immediately made a decision in her heart. She patted the heads of the
two little guys gently and said softly, “Can you play by yourselves first? I have something
to talk to your dad about.”
Timothy nodded solemnly and promised her, like an adult, “Mom, don’t worry. I
will look after my sister!”
Lucia smiled and waited for them to take hands and walk aside to continue
reading, before turning to Paul and whispering,
“Paul, come out here for a minute, I want to talk to you about something.”
A smile flashed through the depths of Paul’s eyes as he seemed to have realized
something. He nodded and walked toward her, pretending to be relaxed as he
asked, “Did Dr. Bram say something to you? I saw that your face was pale.”
Lucia forced a smile and walked out of the ward. After closing the door, she
turned to look at the man next to her. She took at deep breath and said, “Paul, I
want to return home early.”
“What?” Paul’s face was full of shock. He looked at her in astonishment and
asked again, “What did you say?”
Taking a deep breath, Lucia repeated, “I want to return.”
She did not know what kind of magic power was holding her back that made her
make such a strange decision. All in all, this
was the only thought echoing in her mind right now. Paul’s expression changed
slightly upon seeing her firm attitude. He asked coldly, “Why?”
Taking a deep breath, Lucia didn’t know what to say. In the past, after such a big
thing had happened to August, she would have rushed to find out the truth. But
now, she had nothing to do with him… This was exactly what troubled her. Paul
felt something, frowned slightly, he asked, “Is it because of August Adams?”
Hearing that name, Lucia was startled. She raised her eyes and looked at Paul
with confusion. However, she soon came to a realization. It turned out that he
knew everything. He knew what had happened in Austos and what had
happened in August, but she had never heard even one word from him. Could it
be that Paul had deliberately concealed the news from her?
At that moment, Lucia suddenly thought of her phone. She took a deep breath
and slowly tightened her grip on the phone, Suppressing the emotions in her
heart, she asked slowly, “You know everything, don’t you?”
Paul didn’t answer. He merely looked at her in silence. However, his tacitness
was a yes to her.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“We don’t have any relationship with him anymore. Lucia, I just want to live a
happy life with you. I don’t care about anything else.”
“Really?” A chill rose in Lucia’s heart. She raised the mobile phone in her hand,
and asked coldly. “Then why did you encrypt my phone?”
He was the one who bought her the phone, and it was as easy as pie for him to get her
phone, so he was the first person she
suspected when she found out her new phone was encrypted.
Paul was somewhat startled. He hadn’t expected her to find out that. He was silent for a
moment. Before he could think of an explanation, he saw Lucia sneering and walking
away.
Paul anxiously chased after her and grabbed her wrist. He said sincerely and urgently,
“Lucia, I know it was wrong to do that without your permission… but I really don’t want
anything to affect our lives. I really care about you, and I don’t want to lose you. I just want
to take you and the children to start a new life in a new place. Could you understand?”
Lucia’s heart skipped a beat. When she saw the sincerity in the man’s eyes, her heart
suddenly softened. However, after thinking about it, she gritted her teeth slightly and said
firmly, “Paul, now that Paula is on the mend, I’m relieved to have Bram around, but I have
to go back home.”
She wanted to go back and verify if August’s death was true or not. After all, he was the
father of Timothy and Janet. She would feel relief unless she confirmed the news by
herself.
Disappointment flashed through the depths of Paul’s eyes. Soon afterward, he pulled out a
wry smile, “Must you leave?” At this point, if she returned in August, she was very likely to
still have feelings for him. No matter what kind of feelings it was, that would be enough to
make him go crazy!
He slowly clenched his fists and his face turned livid. Lucia took a deep breath and
promised him, “Paul, don’t worry. I’ll go back and confirm it as soon as possible. If Paula
hadn’t finished her treatment at that time, I’d come over.”
Hearing this, Paul remained silent. He watched as she entered the ward and told Timothy
and Janet about her decision. A helpless smile appeared on his face.
At this point, she had
made up her mind. If he continued to stop her, the relationship between them would
probably become more rigid.
