Moonborn Heir

Moonborn Heir Novel Chapter 37

Moonborn Heir Novel Chapter 37 – “This isn’t a game, Sabrina,” I say, my voice tight. “If you have advice, give it.

Otherwise, leave.” She tilts her head, studying me, her smile deepening. “So serious,” she murmurs, her voice almost a whisper. “Fine, Kael. I’ll help you. But remember—alliances aren’t just built on vision. They’re built on trust, on loyalty, on family. Without an heir, you’re asking the Alphas to follow a
dream, not a legacy.”

I release her wrist, stepping back to put space between us. My heart pounds harder than I’d like, but I keep my expression unreadable. “Noted,” I say flatly. “Now, get out.” Sabrina laughs softly, the sound low and sultry. “Of course, Alpha.” She turns, her hips swaying as she walks to the door, pausing just long enough to glance over her shoulder. “Think about what I said.”

The door clicks shut behind her, and I exhale slowly, the tension in my chest refusing to ease. Her words claw at the edges of my mind, and no matter how much I want to dismiss them, they linger. Without an heir, you’re weak.

I glance at the empty chair where Talia often sits, the weight of Sabrina’s accusation pressing harder. I don’t want to doubt her, don’t want to doubt us. But doubt has a way of creeping in, nomatter how tightly you close the door.

he soft glow of candlelight fills the mansion as I step through the door, the gentle flicker casting warm shadows on the walls. My breath catches in my throat when I see the flowers arranged in delicate vases on every surface, their subtle fragrance wrapping around me like a quiet embrace. The dining table is set with careful precision, two glasses of deep red wine glinting in the firelight.

I take a step forward, my heart swelling at the sight, and Kael emerges from the shadows, his grey eyes locking onto mine. He’s dressed simply, his black shirt rolled up at the sleeves, but there’s a power in the way he moves, a quiet strength in his gaze that sends shivers down my spine.

“You shouldn’t have done all this,” I say softly, my voice trembling with emotion. “Tomorrow is so important. You should be preparing.”
Kael shakes his head, a small smile playing on his lips as he closes the distance between us.

“This is the only thing I want right now,” he murmurs, his voice low and steady. “The only thing I need—is you.” My cheeks warm, and I glance down, overwhelmed by the intensity of his words. Kael takes my hand, his touch firm yet gentle, and leads me to the settee by the hearth. “Sit,” he says, guiding me down as though I’m something precious. He hands me a glass of wine, his fingers brushing mine, sending a spark up my arm.

“You’ve been working so hard these past two years, Talia. You’ve done an incredible job.” I blink up at him, the weight of his praise pressing into me in the best possible way. “Thank you,” I whisper, my voice barely audible, as I take a sip of wine. Kael takes the glass from my hand, setting it aside before settling in beside me. His hands find my shoulders, and I stiffen for a moment before his thumbs press into the tense muscles at the base of my neck.

A sigh escapes my lips as the tension melts away under his touch. “Relax,” he murmurs, his breath warm against my ear. “You’ve earned this. It’s time to let go for once.” The tenderness in his voice brings a sudden sting to my eyes, and I blink rapidly, trying to keep the tears at bay. “Kael…” My voice falters, and I shake my head, overwhelmed. His hands slow, his fingers tracing soft circles over my skin. “What else can I do for you?” I ask, my voice trembling.

“How can I repay you for everything you’ve done for me?” Kael’s hands slide lower, skimming down my shoulders and brushing against my collarbone. He
leans in, his voice dropping to a low, rough murmur. “There’s only one thing I want, Talia.”

His hands move lower, trailing over the curve of my chest until they settle around my breasts, his touch firm yet reverent. “I want to claim you,” he says, his voice a growl that sends heat rushing through me. “Fully. Completely.” My breath hitches as his words sink in, his hands stilling for a moment before he continues. “I want you to give me an heir.”

My body freezes, and he must sense the hesitation in me, because his hands move to my arms, holding me steady. “Why haven’t you given yourself to me yet?” he asks, his voice gentler now. “Do you not trust me, Talia?” I swallow hard, my heart racing as I look away. The question pierces through me, and for a
moment, I don’t know how to respond. I’ve carried this doubt for so long, kept it buried where no one could see it.

But now, with Kael’s gaze on me, his voice filled with quiet urgency, I feel the walls I’ve built around myself begin to crack. “I…” My voice falters, and I bite my lip, debating whether to tell him. But there’s something in his eyes—something unyielding yet patient—that makes me want to trust him, to let him see the part of me I’ve hidden even from myself.

“I’ve held back,” I admit finally, my voice barely a whisper. “Because I’ve never felt good enough for you. For this pack. I’m just…” My voice breaks, and I shake my head, the words catching in my throat. “I don’t want to disappoint you.” Kael’s hands tighten on my arms, his gaze fierce as he pulls me closer. “Talia,” he say , his voice low and rough. “You could never disappoint me. You are the strongest, most incredible she-wolf in all the realm.

I chose you for a reason, and I’ve never once doubted that choice. Not for a second.” Tears spill over, and I shake my head again, but Kael doesn’t let me look away. His hands move to cup my face, his thumbs brushing the tears from my cheeks.

“But now,” he continues, his voice softening, “it’s time for you to see what I see. To feel your full power. You’re my Luna, Talia. You’re the future of Shadow Ridge. And together, we’re going to create a legacy. You need to give yourself to me. Fully. Let me claim you. Let me make you mine, in every way.”
His words settle deep in my chest, filling the cracks that doubt has left behind. For the first time, I feel the weight of his belief in me—not just as his Luna, but as his equal.

“I believe you,” I whisper, the words trembling but true. Kael smiles, a slow, devastating curve of his lips, and he leans in, pressing his forehead to
mine. “Then let me show you,” he murmurs. He stands, taking my hand and leading me toward the bedroom. The air between us is electric, every step charged with anticipation. When the door closes behind us, Kael turns to me, his hands sliding over my waist, pulling me close.

His lips find mine, soft at first, then deeper, more consuming. His hands explore me with a reverence that makes my knees weak, and I melt into him, my body responding instinctively. Kael’s touch is slow, deliberate, his hands trailing over every inch of me as if he’s memorizing me.

His lips leave a searing trail down my neck, and his hands find my hips, pulling me closer until there’s no space left between us.

“Do you feel it now?” he murmurs against my skin, his voice rough and full of promise. “Do you feel how powerful you are?” “Yes,” I whisper, my voice breaking as his hands move lower, sending shivers through me.
