Moonborn Heir

Moonborn Heir Novel Chapter 24

Moonborn Heir Novel Chapter 24 – Without another word, she turns on her heels and storms out, leaving me standing in silence, the tension thick in the air even after she’s gone.

I let out a frustrated sigh, running a hand through my hair, trying to push away the nagging worry building in my chest. How could Talia be
so stupid? A sharp knock at my door startles me out of my thoughts.

I open it to find Cade standing there, holding a single, dark red rose. His brow lifts as he glances down the hall where Taliadisappeared. “Was that…Talia? What was she doing here?” “Just…stopping by,” I say, a bit too quickly, but Cade’s piercing gaze doesn’t miss a thing.

He tilts his head, eyes narrowing, prying for the truth I’m reluctant to share. “And what did she want?” he presses, stepping inside without waiting for an invitation, his tonecalm but pointed.

I falter, the temptation to spill everything — my doubts, my fears, the dangerous secrets hanging between Talia and Lucian — tugging at me. It would be so easy to unload it all, to let Cade know the weight I’m carrying, the fractures forming in my loyalty to her.

But something holds me back, some flicker of guilt or loyalty, an instinct to shield Talia even as resentment festers. “It was…nothing,” I finally say, forcing a casual shrug. “Just family matters.” “Family matters?” Cade echoes, skepticism clear in his gaze.

He steps closer, scrutinizing me, as if he can see right through the flimsy facade I’ve thrown up. “Are you sure that’s all it was?” “Nothing worth worrying over,” I insist, injecting a lightness I don’t feel into my voice. “Now, are you going to stand there all night, or do you have a reason for bringing that?” I nod toward the rose, deflecting his attention, hoping he’ll let it slide.

He smirks, holding the rose out to me, his voice dipping low, smooth as silk. “I thought you might want some company tonight.” He takes a step closer, his fingers tracing along my arm, slow and deliberate, sending a shiver down my spine. “Maybe you need a distraction from family matters, with something more…intimate?”

My heart races, my irritation with Talia momentarily slipping away, replaced by something darker, more intoxicating. “Maybe I do,” I murmur, letting my defenses falter as I tilt my head up to meet his gaze. He lifts the rose to my lips, brushing the petals against them, his voice a murmur just above a
whisper.

“I see you, Rhea,” he says, his eyes smoldering. “You’re not like her. You’re strong, capable. Look at you.” His hand slips down, gripping my thigh firmly. “Look at how hot you are. Talia’s an ugly mongrel compared to you.”

A thrill courses through me, and I can’t stop the smile that flickers across my lips. I lean into him, relishing his touch, letting his words sink in. “You really think so?” I murmur, my voice barely more than a breath. He chuckles, his grip tightening on my thigh as he pulls me closer.

“I know so,” he whispers, his gaze intense, hungry. “You deserve more, Rhea. More than just being in her shadow. You’re meant to be with someone who sees you for the goddess you are.” His words send a surge of warmth through me, washing away any lingering doubt.

I wrap my arms around him, pulling him down to me, letting myself surrender to his touch. His lips find mine, and it’s a deep, consuming kiss that erases everything but this moment, his touch igniting a fire that I can’t ignore. He pulls back slightly, smirking as he takes in my flushed cheeks and parted lips. “See?” he murmurs, brushing a strand of hair from my face. “You’re incredible, Rhea. And I’m not the only one who thinks so.”

I gasp softly as his hands move, sliding up my thighs, his touch possessive, confident, claiming me in a way that’s both thrilling and terrifying. His lips trail down my neck, each kiss a spark that leaves me breathless. “You deserve to be worshiped, not pushed aside for someone like her.”

A low growl escapes me, a mix of desire and newfound power coursing through my veins. I tilt my head back, letting him kiss his way along my neck, losing myself in the moment, in the intoxicating thrill of his touch and his words. This isn’t about Talia anymore. This is about me — claiming my own place, my own power.

I pull him closer, my fingers digging into his shoulders as he whispers more words of praise, each one stoking the fire building between us.
His hands slide down, gripping my hips, pulling me flush against him as his mouth captures mine again, fierce and unrelenting.

His touch is electric, every movement deliberate, claiming, as if he’s determined to leave his mark on me. I let out a shuddering breath, my fingers tangling
in his hair as he deepens the kiss, making me feel both powerful and utterly at his mercy.

He pulls back just slightly, his lips hovering over mine as he murmurs, “I’ve wanted to claim you since the day I laid eyes on you, Rhea. Wanted to see you like this — wild, unrestrained.” His voice is low, husky, and I feel the lust of his words stir something deep within me. “Cade…” I breathe, my voice thick with longing, his name a whisper on my lips as he trails his hands up my sides, his touch slow, teasing, heightening every sensation.

His eyes are dark, intense, as he gazes down at me, like I’m the only thing in his world. “You’re intoxicating,” he whispers, his voice rough with desire. “No one could resist you…not even Talia holds a candle to you.” His words send a thrill down my spine, and I arch into him, my body answering his unspoken command, my skin tingling under his gaze.

“Show me, then,” I challenge, my voice trembling with anticipation. “Show me what it means to be with someone who truly sees me.” A smirk curves at the corner of his mouth, and he grips my hips tighter, guiding me back toward the bed. He lowers me down, his movements slow and deliberate, his gaze never leaving mine. “Oh, I will,” he promises, his voice a low growl, filled with a dark promise. “I’ll make sure you never forget this.”

He leans over me, his hands sliding over my body with an intensity that sends heat pooling in my stomach. He kisses me again, softer this time, yet filled with a passion that leaves me breathless, his lips tracing a path along my jaw, down my neck, each kiss sending waves of pleasure through me.

His hands explore, leaving no part of me untouched, his touch claiming every inch of me. “Do you feel that?” he murmurs against my skin, his breath hot against my collarbone. “That’s what power feels like, Rhea. That’s what it feels like to be wanted, to be worshiped.”

I gasp as his lips travel lower, my back arching in response to his touch. His hands are everywhere, igniting a fire within me that I can’t control, a fire that only he can stoke. I lose myself in the rhythm of his touch, in the way he moves against me, his words a tantalizing promise of what’s to come.

He presses his forehead against mine, his gaze locking onto mine, intense and unyielding. “Rhea,” he whispers, his voice filled with raw desire. “You’re mine now.” “Yes,” I breathe, my voice barely a whisper as I surrender to him, letting him pull me under, letting him consume me completely.

His touch is fire, his words molten, and I’m lost to him, lost to this moment that feels like a brand searing into my soul. Slowly, he guides me to the point of no return, each movement slow and calculated, his touch possessive as he claims me in a way that feels final, binding.

I hold onto him, our breaths mingling as he takes me higher, each sensation sharper, more vivid, until I feel like I might come undone. And as we reach that final moment, he pulls me close, his voice a low whisper in my ear. “You’re more powerful than you realize, Rhea. And together…we’re unstoppable.”

With those words, he pushes me over the edge, and I fall, lost in the sensation, lost in him, as he becomes the center of my world, his touch leaving me branded, forever changed.
