I Switched Fiancés After His Betrayal with My Stepsister Novel Chapter 6 – As I turned around, a strikingly handsome face appeared in front of me. Even with sunglasses on, Isaac Young’s charisma was undeniable. Johan Walker noticed Isaac’s arrival and strutted over with an air of self-importance.
“Bro, this fiancée isn’t right for you. You can’t let her fool you,” Johan said, trying to sound authoritative. “Look, she’s sneaking around even in broad daylight. Later on…”
Before he could finish, Isaac signaled his security to escort Johan out. Two bodyguards immediately guided Johan away, his eyes wide with disbelief.
“What are you doing, bro? I’m just looking out for you, and you’re kicking me out?” he protested. “Isaac, how could you do this? You’re totally embarrassing me! Don’t you believe I’ll tell Grandma?”
With Johan being shown out by security, Neriah Myers, who had been holding her breath, quietly slipped away too. Isaac addressed the onlookers.
“Let everyone know,” he declared, “any gossip about today’s events will be met with consequences from me, Isaac Young.”
“I know my fiancée’s character, and I don’t need anyone else’s opinion,” he continued. Everyone present, aware of Isaac’s decisive nature, nodded in agreement.
Seeing Isaac stand up for me warmed my heart. The day had been stressful for Remy Scott, my colleague from the clinic. I quickly apologized to him and thanked Isaac for his support.
Remy looked at me with concern. “Adaline, where are you headed? Let me give you a ride.”
It wasn’t a good idea to linger, so I intended to leave with Remy. However, the pain from my back reminded me I needed to apply some medicine at home. I limped along with Remy.
We had barely taken a few steps when a strong hand wrapped around me. Suddenly, I found myself lifted into Isaac’s arms, carried in a bridal style.
Up close, I realized he was even more handsome than I had imagined. I squirmed, uncertain how I could let someone with limited vision carry me.
“Isaac, put me down, I can walk.”
He grinned, a charming curve in his smile. “How could I let my wife leave with someone else?” he quipped. “Besides, you’re hurt. If anything happens, it’s on me.”
It dawned on me that my shirt was soaked with blood from my back. The metallic scent hit my nose.
Isaac placed me in his luxury car and drove to his private medical practice. There, his personal doctor prepared a room for me. Despite being the Young family heir, Isaac personally tended to my wounds.
Through the mirror, I noticed his eyes were slightly reddened. Was he troubled by my injuries?
Oddly, the pain in my back seemed to lessen under his care. Feeling that I had taken too much of his time, I quickly said goodbye and prepared to leave.
Isaac’s lips curled into a boyish grin. From behind, his gentle voice reached me. “Adaline, as my wife, you should never feel inferior.”
“I’ll be your strength and protect you from harm.”
Though we had met only twice, his serious promise touched me deeply, bringing a sense of happiness and security. If only he weren’t blind, he’d be the prince of my dreams.
