Is a mistake from the Moon Goddess Chapter 504

Is a mistake from the Moon Goddess Chapter 504 We ran for hours. I stayed well away from the pack house and the dead caves. Nix and Megan kept me company as I worked through everything that was bouncing away in my head. Megan laid her head on my lap as I sat against the tree that I attacked earlier. “Do you think they are still looking for us?” Her question was  soft.  “Probably not.” Nix called back. “I haven’t heard anyone in a long time, and they probably figured we needed space.‘  I shook my head. “They have to keep a low profile. No one can find out they are still alive.” I ran my fingers through her fur.  She cocked her head to stare up at my face with one eye. “How does no one know the pack is alive?” She twisted, getting to her feet. “I’ve been thinking about this for a while and I have no idea how no one has figured out that the pack survived.”  Nix slid to a stop. “I’ve never thought about it until right now. But Megan is right. You would think someone would have checked, right?”  I snorted. “Hubris.”  “What?” Both my wolves sounded confused.  “I can’t be certain, but knowing the players…Aurora, Verity, Vince. Without ever meeting Garith, I can honestly say they all are the same. They are cocky. Full of themselves. And searching for a dead person is a waste of their time.” I looked at Megan. “Someone saw my dad die, and they took it and ran with it.” I raised a shoulder. “There is a ninety percent chance my dad is using magic to cover up his tracks, but it all boils down to the fact that they are too full of themselves to double check someone they think is dead is really  dead.”  Megan snorted. “Stupid.”  I nodded. “But it works in our favor.” I sighed as I pushed up from the ground.  Megan followed me. “Are you ready?”  i nodded. “Spending a few hours pitying myself is enough.” I sighed. “But it’s time to face the music.”  Nix chuckled. “I doubt it’s music waiting for you back home.”  I pushed forward. “You are probably right.” I started running back to the pack house. “But if we are lucky, Rowan will be back at his castle, and I just have to deal with my father and Ronnie.”  Both my wolves growled. “I can understand not telling us the truth for a bit. But to keep all this hidden away, and then to push us towards Rowan to at the very least forgive him, is where I draw the line.” Nix stalked toward the clearing.  I chuckled. “You two talk to his wolf.” They both turned to me. “Did you know?” I thought I was joking, but as soon as the words left my lips, I knew I wasn’t. We had spent these last years working on growing our bond, but they had met Erubus behind my back. So maybe then knew.  “I know you are hurting. But that hurt.” Nix settled back on her haunches. “I thought we were past questioning each other.”  “That was before she found out we have been talking to Erubus behind her back.” Megan laid down on her stomach. “And before she found out, I had rejected Brandon in the first year of school without telling either of you.”  1/3  +25 Bonus  Nix looked between the two of us before she sighed, and then sank to her stomach. “Okay. I will agree that we have done a few things that might make you question us.” She laid her head on her paws. “But I can say with the upmost sincerity that I had no idea. Erubus never told me anything about him being Thoth.”  Megan sighed, and that made my stomach clench. I stumbled over my footing as she turned to look at me. “I don’t know if you will even trust my words, Amy.” She looked down. “I know I haven’t been the most honest with you. But I swear, I didn’t know. I would have told you if I did.”  Her words comforted me. “I trust you both.” I whispered back to them. “I just feel like if Ronnie, my mom and dad knew, who else knew? Did Toya, or Wendy? Did Cass?”  “If Cass knew, she would have called. We know that.” Nix snorted. “Playing dead or not, we would have gotten a call. She wouldn’t stand by and let that happen to you.” Nix’s words released something in my stomach.  ((  “I hope you are right.” We ran the rest of the way in silence. By the time we got back to the pack house, it was night. The house looked empty. Not one light on. I shifted as I opened the door. Lights burned my eyes. What the fuck?”  I  “Magic bitch.” Cass jumped on me. “I missed you so much.” I pulled back and then dove into her arms.  “I missed you too.”  She smirked. “I’ll have dinner delivered to your room. Go shower, then we talk.” She rubbed her hands together.  “Okay!” I ran upstairs, excited to spend the night with my best friend. I ran into my bedroom and into the shower. I took the quickest shower ever, and wrapped myself in a towel before I made it back to my bedroom, turning on their lights.

Is a mistake from the Moon Goddess Chapter 503

Is a mistake from the Moon Goddess Chapter 503 Megan stared at me for a second before she nodded. She ran to the clearing, and I heard the telltale sound of a vacuum. I shut my eyes as I banged my head off the tree, whispering to myself. “So fucking stupid.” I felt the tears burn behind my eyes again and I pushed up from the ground and whirled to face the tree. I punched it over and over, screaming my anger. “So fucking stupid.”  Megan made her way back over to me as I pummeled the tree. “Amy?”  I just kept hitting the tree. But the tree never splintered, never broke, and that pissed me off even more. FUCK YOU.” I punched harder, waiting for the blood, the pain, but nothing came.  “It won’t.” Megan called out.  I whirled. “WHAT?”  “The pain…it won’t happen.” Megan nodded to the tree. “That tree isn’t real, Amy.”  “What the hell are you talking about?” I dropped my hands to my sides. My chest was still heaving from attacking the poor tree.  Megan just stared at me. “You’re mad.” She shifted closer, her words throwing me off.  “Of course I’m mad.” I shook my head. “But what does that have to do with anything?”  ((  “Your dad betrayed your trust. So did your mom.” She changed topics again, and it was confusing my anger  addled brain.  “Aren’t you?” I screamed back.  She tilted her head at me. “Is that all you are mad at?”  “YES.” I screamed. “I trusted them and they played me. Everyone played me.”  She crept closer. “So you attacked the tree?” She asked, and I swore she raised her eyebrow at me.  “So?” I whirled to face her. “Why can’t I attack a tree?”  “I never said you couldn’t, but the tree you are attacking is a figment of our imagination. The pain, the blood, you are trying to chase. The distraction you are so desperate for…you won’t find it here.” She closed the rest of the space. “You can’t hurt yourself. So attacking the tree in here won’t do anything other than maybe give you a headache.” I felt my knees wobble. “You won’t get the physical pain to distract you from the pain you are running from.” She pressed herself against my side.  My voice dropped to a low whisper. “It’s not fair.”  “What’s not fair?” She licked my hand, tickling me, but I was too numb to feel it.  “He forced my mom to leave. He forced me to live without him for most of my life. He asked me to go into computer science. He told me to get close to Brandon.” A tear escaped. “I talked you into getting close to him. I had to kiss him, hold his hand, I had to treat him like he mattered, even knowing he was your mate.” I finally looked down at Megan. “And I did it, because he was my father. I tortured you because he asked me to do it and made it seem like it was important. But when everything happened between Rowan and me… he pretended to care that Rowan broke my heart. He shattered me and they helped me pick up my pieces, My mom held me through my pain. But within a month, my dad had introduced me to Thoth.” My knees finally gave out. “He said that Thoth could help me.” I laughed then, but it was hallow. “But it was just Rowan.”  Megan pressed her face into the crook of my neck. “And that’s bad?” She pulled back to look at me, like she was genuinely confused about my answer.  1/3  +25 Bonus  “I told him so much.” I reached out to her face. “Thoth became my friend, my confidant. I told him everything…” Another tear fell. “I told him about my heat. I told all about Rowan…my pain, my love, my hate. Everything.”  She nodded. “And it turned out to be him.”  A sob broke from my chest. “I feel betrayed.”  “As you should.” Nix called back. “But I don’t think that’s why you are this mad.”  I sighed. “Why then?”  Nix was silent for a moment. “I think the reason you are so mad that Thoth turned out to be Rowan isn’t because they lied, but because you fell in love with him. And I know the letters shifted how you look at Rowan …but in truth, you had fallen for Thoth or the man that Thoth stood for. He was your escape. A listening but not judgemental ear. Your friend who took the time to get to know you. Someone not forced on you by circumstance or bond. Someone who didn’t know who you were. Someone that didn’t care how much power we had, or what rank we were. Someone who you thought cared about you. Not me, not Megan, just you.” Another sob bubbled up, but her next words broke me. “Megan got to have her love, even if he was a bastard in the end. And eventually I will find my mate. But Thoth was the one man that could have loved you for you… and finding out he was Rowan stole that from you.”

Is a mistake from the Moon Goddess Chapter 502 Thoth ripped his mask off, and my breath was stolen from my lungs. The pain in my ears faded as I stared at the side of his face. You have got to be fucking kidding me. The room was completely silent except for the crackling from the mask and the yell that fell from his lips.  I stared at him for a second longer before my anger exploded. “You fucking bastards.” I whirled on my father. I felt my eyes shift, and my fangs dropped so fast my lip started top bleed. I pointed in his face. “You fucking knew it was Rowan, didn’t you?”  My father paled. His eyes danced between me and Rowan. “Amy…‘  })  I turned to Ronnie. “Did you know?” Ronnie looked around the room, but refused to meet my eyes. I laughed, but it was just full of my pain. “Of course you did. You are his best friend.” I turned back to my dad. “Any other secrets that you want to fess up to while we are here, father?” He winced at the name.  A new thought twisted my stomach, and I pulled my phone from my pocket. My dad tried to reach for me but I held up a hand as I hit the screen. The phone rang as I glared at my father. “Hey baby.” My mother’s voice rang out from my phone. “Everything okay? How’s your dad?”  “Did you know?” My voice was flat as I stared at my dad.  “Baby?” My mom’s voice turned worried. “What’s wrong?”  I ignored her question and just asked again. “Did you know?”  My dad winced again. Rowan stepped closer to me. “Amy, can we just talk?” His words hit me like a punch.  “What is going on?” My mom’s voice started to get agitated. “Someone explain. Now!” Her commanding  voice made a few of the men around the room reel back.  My dad shut his eyes. “Ainsley…”  “Gavin Maclean, you need to explain to me what is going on.” Her voice took on a little edge, but I cut in before my dad could say anything.  “Did you know Thoth was Rowan?” My voice was still flat, but I had a tiny little spark of hope in my chest. Please, goddess, please tell me not everyone in my life kept this from me. I heard a quick breath on the other side of the call and I knew. I knew everyone had kept the truth from me. I laughed then. The tears sprang to my eyes in a flash and I had to just shake my head. “Fuck me, I guess eh?” I closed my eyes and I felt a tear tremble on the edge, which just pissed me off even more. Because I refuse to cry in front of these men. I forced my eyes to open. “Thank you for showing me exactly where I stand.” I hung up the phone as my mom sputtered and slipped it into my pocket as I turned.  “Amy wait.” My dad grabbed for me. But I slammed my aura out, not holding anything back. Everyone in the room dropped to the ground.  “Don’t fucking touch me.” I growled out. I turned to look back at my father, who was barely staying upright. But it was Rowan that surprised me. He was sweating to stay up, my power pounding against his own, causing his knees to tremble a little. That gave me a little bit of satisfaction. “You had no right.” I allowed him to see all of my hurt. “He might be your king…but I am your daughter. You don’t get to play me like a fucking puppet and think I will just be okay with it.” He winced at my words.  “It wasn’t like that.”  I laughed, “That’s all you got?” He stared up at me but I was already leaving. I was backing away from him. “ I did everything you wanted me to do. I followed your plan for my career, my life, everything I gave up to be the dutiful daughter.” I growled as a tear slipped out. But my aura slammed out so hard that the other men in  1/3  +25 Bonus  the toom had to press their face into the carpet. Only Rowan and my father got to see my tears. “I put my pain on the back burner to follow you. But this?” I waved my hand. “This is fucking bullshit.” I glared at him for another second before I turned and stalked from the room.  I raced down the stairs and slammed out the front door, shifting instantly into Nix, allowing her to take over. She made a beeline for the trees and ran out of there. She wove through the trees, diving under a fallen log as I heard the distant slam of a door. But I stopped caring. I curled up against a tree in my mind and just focused on breathing.  Nix ran for a few minutes longer before she called back. “Someone is following our scent.”  I turned to Megan. “Shut it off.”

Is a mistake from the Moon Goddess Chapter 501 My father and Chris broke off and started to have a deep conversation in the room’s corner, while the rest of us waited. I looked at Ronnie to find him already watching me.  “You okay?” He settled next to me in my father’s seat that he had just vacated. “You look sad…what happened?”  Thoth turned. “What happened with Rick and everyone last night? Were you able to save his pup?”  I sat back so I could see both men and nodded. “It was hard. But I was able to save everyone.”  Ronnie furrowed his brow. “Everyone? I thought only the kid was sick.”  I shook my head. “It was a lot more complicated. But I managed.”  Toya’s father leaned in. “Toya said you almost died.”  My father’s head snapped around. “What did you just say?” I looked up, and he turned to Chris. “We can talk about everything once this is all handled. But I will help.” My father stuck out his hand, but he was already back to staring at me. Once they shook, he turned back and Ronnie got up out of my father’s chair, letting my father reclaim his seat. But Ronnie didn’t go far. He ended up standing behind my chair. My father leaned closer. “What did Broderick just say?”  I groaned, but Thoth’s low rumble stopped it. “Please, just explain.” His words were low, but the voice changer hurt my ears.  I shook my head and sighed. “Last night when I brought everyone to the cabin I was already tired.”  “Why?” Ronnie leaned over the chair. “Are you sick?”  I shook my head. “I was just tired.”  Thoth scoffed. “She was attacked by Brandon. He had broken a few ribs, her cheek and her eye socket. She had internal bleeding that was still bleeding when she hobbled out of the hospital to go back to the pack house.”  I turned to Thoth. “How-”  “How did I know?” I couldn’t see his eyes, but I was picturing him glaring at me. “I follow your every move since I found out you were locked up.” He shook his head. “You allowed him to attack you.”  I nodded. “Yes, I did. And I would do it again.” I shot back, and Thoth growled loudly. I felt a smirk hit my lips. “You can be mad all you want. It is my body and my choice.” I turned my back on Thoth and focused on my dad. “I needed an excuse to leave the pack, and Brandon’s attack was perfect.” I shot a glare at Thoth, who, like the big bad wolf he was, was growling again.  “Lady bug.” Ronnie’s voice was soft. I looked up at met his troubled gaze. “You could have died.”  I shook my head. “It was the right move at the time.” I turned back to my father, who had kept quiet. “I used the attack to get a transfer approved by the king. But I also used it as a diversion.”  “For what?” My dad leaned in.  “When I went back hurt…I said I was tieing things up before I left, but in reality I was downloading Vince’s mainframe.” I looked over my shoulder at Thoth and smirked. “I have Rick running through it all. That’s how I found the emails between Garith and Vince.”  “You did it?” My dad tilted his head.  +25 Bonus  I nodded as I pulled out a flash drive. “Yeah, I downloaded it while I was arguing with Vince to let me go. I brought you a copy.”  He jumped up and pulled me into his arms. “You are amazing.” He kissed my cheeks and spin me in a circle. ” I knew you could do it.” He dropped me back down to my feet and I felt someone take the flash drive from my hand.  “I’ll take this.” Thoth slipped the USB into his pocket as I turned around to look at him.  I shrugged. “Hopefully, you find everything we need.” He nodded once and sat back down.  My dad sighed. “But you allowed him to hurt you.” He swiped a finger over my face.  I smiled. “It doesn’t matter. It was worth the risk. And it’s not like I was in any real danger.” Thoth snapped his head around. My dad’s brow furrowed. “I allowed him to attack me and then told my wolves to not heal me.”  “You said it was to get the transfer.” My dad raised his eyebrow. “But you could have gotten out without being hurt.”  I snorted. “Fat chance.” I snorted. “Brandon is a wimp.” I earned a few chuckles. “But hurt or not, it’s not like I am important.” My dad’s mouth dropped open. I just smiled. “I know you love me, but I am replaceable. You can have another kid with mom, and it’s not like I have a mate or anything to worry about. If I die, I die.”  Thoth stood and let out

Is a mistake from the Moon Goddess Chapter 500 Someone scoffed. Then Chris crossed his arms. “Why would you help us become stronger? You are just making us a bigger threat to you.”  I smiled. “Are there big pack wars still I haven’t heard about lately?”  The question confused the men. “What?”  “Are there big land disputes that you will kill for?” I tossed another question.  “Of course not.”  “Has the king stopped mediating any disputes between clans?” My words sounded confused.  “You know he will still intervene.” He sounded exasperated.  “Then why would your growth scare us? Any dispute me might have will be mediated. Land will be assigned by the King. But if we are being really honest here, Chris and I try my best to be honest. Then I will say this. I am descended from the goddess. I have magic, a wolf and a Lycan. No one in your pack has a chance of standing up to me one on one. Pack against pack, our pack is bigger and better trained.”  His jaw clenched. “See this is what I was saying.” Chris pointed at me. “She thinks she is better than us.”  I raised my hands. “I never said I was better than you. I never would have even brought this up, but you pushed it.”  “Sit down, Chris.” Tim snapped out.  Chris turned around and growled at Tim. “They are trying to demean us.”  My dad laughed. “My father is behind the charge to kill the king. Do you really think I have any fucking space to look down on anyone?”  The room was silent. But I snickered. My father turned to me and lifted a brow. “I’m sorry, daddy. But it is a little funny.”  My dad just shook his head, but he swiveled his chair to face the other alphas. “Now, just talk to me.”  “What?” Chris sank into his chair.  “Why are you feeling like this? When have I ever done anything that made you feel like I thought I was better than you?” My dad leaned his elbows on to his desk. “I have done my best to never step on your toes.”  Chris snapped. “That right there.”  My dad looked up at me, confused. “What?”  Chris growled. “You are always so fucking perfect. The perfect man, the perfect alpha, the perfect friend.” He screamed. “It’s fucking demeaning.”  My dad stared at him for a second before he started laughing. Everyone froze. They thought he lost his mind, and maybe he had. He wiped his face. “I made my mate believe I cheated on her. I broke her heart and then let her walk away.” His words were threaded with laughter. “I barely raised my pup.” His eyes snapped to mine. “I got holidays and some summers.” He shook his head. “I’m far from the perfect man. I ruined my pup’s life, my mates, because I knew better than anyone else.” He turned back to Chris. “I spent years ruining every training program my mate put in place before she left out of spite. I stunted the growth of every female in my pack because it was the luna’s duty to watch over them and I didn’t have a luna. My best friend nearly killed me and the only reason I’m still alive was because Amy saw his true colors. Not me.”  Chris shook his head. “You are lying.”  My dad shook his head. “I wish I was. But you can ask anyone if you want to check.”  Chris looked around, and Tim just nodded. “Ainsley ran to Vince’s pack. You can ask anyone.”  Chris looked back at my father and me. We all watched as he deflated. My dad knocked on the table. “So tell me what the actual issue is?”  Chris looked back at my father. “You always seem to have it all together. I…I…I felt like I was letting my pack down. And I heard…” He trailed off as he looked around.  “Heard what?” I took a step, but Thoth followed behind me. The movement felt second nature, but foreign at the same time.  “I heard a few pack members talking about Gavin. They were saying how great he was.” He looked down at his hands. “They said about living in a pack like this, and L.”  “You became jealous.” I finished.  He looked up at me with lost eyes, but then he nodded. “Yeah.” He dropped his gaze to the floor. “Yeah, I was jealous.”  1/3  Cavoor 500  +25 Bonus  I walked over to him. “You know transfers have to be approved. And my dad wouldn’t poach pack members.”  “I know.” Chris sat back. “Its stupid. I know it is. But I didn’t know how to cope with everything. He was taking care of my pack, being a better man than I was, and my pack was looking to jump ship.”  “Just because they said something about living in a pack like mine doesn’t mean they wanted to jump ship. Why can’t your pack be like mine?”  “How?” Chris laughed.  “I can teach you.” My father offered.

Is a mistake from the Moon Goddess Chapter 499

Is a mistake from the Moon Goddess Chapter 499 The goddess shook her head. “You saved yourself.” She leaned down and pressed a kiss to his forehead. Then she turned to the others. “You are all devoted to my path, or the path of my sisters or brothers.” She looked at Toya’s father, “Your daughter has done well, and will be rewarded it she survives the final battle.”  He swallowed, instantly alert. “IR?”  The goddess gave a sad smile. “I cannot see the future, I just lay the path.”  Thoth shifted, and she turned to face him. “Hiding behind a mask cannot change anything,” His head snapped up.  “Me?” His voice, confused.  She chuckled, “Who else is wearing a mask but you?”  Thoth scratched his head. “No one.”  “Exactly.” She walked to him and leaned down. “You hide yourself to protect yourself. But you are only keeping yourself away from what could be, You are hiding away, and I am worried you will miss your chance. If you don’t confess the truth. All of it. Then you will miss the thing you want most in this world.”  Thoth swallowed. “But what if I mess up again?”  She raised a shoulder. “Then you mess up. But holding back won’t do you any good,”  She turned. “Stay on the path, or don’t. It is up to you all.” Then I was back. I staggered a step, and Thoth steadied me.  “Are you okay?” His question was soft.  “Yeah.” I patted his hand and I felt a spark jump between our skin. I furrowed my brow as I pulled away. I turned back to the others. “So I am sure you have questions.” I tried to smile but it was forced. 2  The others were staring at me, “That was the goddess.” Alpha Chris was pale.  I nodded. “Yes.”  “Could that have been magic?” Alpha Tim looked at the others, but they all shrugged.  I blew out a breath. “Magic can do a lot.” I smiled. “I can change my appearance, I can change how I sound. But there is one thing forbidden.”  My father nodded. “It’s forbidden to imitate a celestial.”  I nodded. “If any pretend to be a goddess in any way, they will lose their blessings. Magic, shitting, or whatever else was gifted. Rank, power, aura. All stripped instantly.”  Toya’s father shook his head. “There is no way that was faked.” He looked at the others “I have felt the moon goddess before. I know you have to.” The others nodded. “I need you to look at me and tell me that what you felt was not the goddess,”  Tim looked away. “She felt like the goddess. But I just wanted to offer any explanation.”  I nodded. “That’s fair. But I want to ask a question.” I tilted my head at him.  He met my stare and then nodded. “Okay.”  “Since you have come into this office, you and a few others seem to be almost against my father.” Everyone snapped their attention to me.” He saved your pack from death. Made sure you had places to live. He took care of you and welcomed you into his confidence, while still giving you the dignity and reverence deserving of an alpha.” Alpha Tim opened his mouth, but I hold up a finger. “When there was yet another attack meant to kill everyone here, he took you to our sacred meeting place. Somewhere no one outside of our pack has ever been. Yet you still question him.” Lfelt my eyes tighten as I glared at the man in front of me, “Why?”  The question hung in the air. Alpha Tun looked at the others, but I just looked from one to the next. “It’s not like that.” He finally spoke up.  Thoth stood, coming behind me and silently showing his support. “It is like that.” He looked around the room. “I have met with you multiple times, and every time I see some push back. When Gavin leaves, there are always some murmurs. I bit my tongue because Gavin asked me to, but Amy is right. After everything he has done for you, for your packs, you still act like this. Why?”  Toya’s father stood and spun on the others. “I have kept quiet for peace. But the Macleans have been nothing short of saviours for my pack. My wolves look up to their example” He turned to my father and bowed. “I should have said something earlier.”  “You have Broderick.” My father’s voice was a little tired  “(  “I have spoken to you about it all, yes, but I should have said my peace to the others long before this.” He spun around to look at the men. You mumble about Gavin taking our power, our pack, but he has never tried. You mumble about being weak alphas, and you are correct. We are weak alpha’s but that is not Gavin’s fault.”  I stepped over to Toya’s father. “Not weak.” He turned to me with soft eyes. I shook my head. “Never weak alphas. You are just new. Your packs are small, but we will help you become stronger.”

Is a mistake from the Moon Goddess Chapter 498

Is a mistake from the Moon Goddess Chapter 498 The others in the room watched as my father processed the idea his dad was still alive. “My mom?”  My grandmother pursed her lips but shook her head. “He didn’t want or need her anymore.” She looked down at the floor. “She wasn’t his first victim, nor his last.” He nodded once.  “Why did he stick around so long if he didn’t want to be here?” Ronnie questioned.  My grandmother sighed. “He was content to be the alpha of this pack as he searched.” She turned back to my father. “And he was fine keeping your mother alive because he knew he would lose standing if he got rid of her. He was the outsider.” She looked around the room. “As it stood, he wasn’t very liked.” My grandmother paced. “Your mother was so much like Amy. Strong, bright, loving. She was funny, and the darling girl of the pack.”  “What happened?” My dad asked.  She leveled him with a look that said he knew. “He did. He had turned your mother from a bright vibrant, loving woman, into the cold stiff creature that you knew.”  “How?” Ronnie asked.  My grandmother opened her mouth, but it was my words the stopped everyone. “When you love someone that doesn’t respect your words, your feelings, or your life,. You allow yourself to become smaller, so they give you a tiny shred of love. Men like Garith, men like Brandon, they toss you little bits of affection and warmth, so you put up with everything they do to tear you down.” I looked up at Ronnie. “They do it in such a way that you don’t even realize you are changing yourself. Not until it’s too late. Not until you are quiet and obedient. Not until the beatings become your everyday and the love they once gave you freely become something you now have to beg for.” My father made a choking noise. But I just smiled as I bared my soul to a room full of men that I barely knew.  “Lady bug.” Ronnie walked over and pulled me into a hug. “You never have to make yourself small.”  I pulled back and grinned. “I know that this time around.” I pulled fully out of his arms and cleared my throat. “Anyway.” I turned back to my grandmother, but she was gone. But my eyes caught on Thoth.  His face was turned to me and I knew without seeing his eyes, he was watching me. His hands were clenched, as if he was mad, but I didn’t know why. I watched him for another second before my dad cleared his throat. “I guess she gave all the answers she could give us.” His voice was still strong and clear, but I knew my father and heard the slight confusion buried in his words.  I nodded. “What do we do now?”  My dad blew out a breath. “I think we put the Garith issue to the side for now,”  Someone scoffed, but Thoth stood up. “Gavin is right. Knowing he is alive doesn’t change our next step. We came here because Amy told us about the rogue encampment in the caves.”  “Have we confirmed if there were still there anymore?” I looked around, turning to face Ronnie.  He nodded. “We had trackers from all the packs head to the caves. And we had each confirm rogue movements. Cass is there now, watching.”  I looked at the other alphas. “Do we agree that the rogues are the biggest threat at this time?” I watched as the alphas all nodded. “Now, while I know, you might be a little doubtful because of the relationship between me, my dad, and Garith. What I can tell you is that my father and I are devoted to the goddess and her will.”  “How do we know that?” Alpha Chris questioned. “No offense to you, Gav. I mean you saved all of us. You kept us alive, and fed these oast years. But he is your father.”  There was a pause, and my father nodded. “I understand.”  One second I was looking at everyone, trying my best to not be angry, and the next second I was back in my mind with my wolves. I looked at Nix and Megan. What is going on?  “You need proof that Amy is chosen by me? You need proof that Gavin is chosen by me?” I looked out and I saw every man in the room freeze.  “Moon blessed.” Toya’s father whispered as he stared at my body.  My body turned to face my father. “You have been through so much.” She walked over and cupped his face. “But this is close to being over.” My father smiled. “You have endured, and I can not express how well you have done. Amy has exceeded all expectations. You have been so devoted to my path.”  My father just shook his head. “You saved me.”
