Jasmine, now over a month more pregnant than Serenity, was in good health, and her pregnancy hadn’t slowed her down much. Her husband, Josh, was extremely attentive, allowing her to go out whenever she wanted, as long as bodyguards accompanied her.

“Mrs. Labbe, back to buy study materials for your brother-in-law?” Jasmine asked with a polite smile. Carrie smiled back. “Yes, he asked me to pick up some study guides and test
questions. He’s already finished his schoolwork and wants to practice more over the break.” She mentioned the specific materials, and Jasmine fetched the books for her. After collecting them, Carrie casually asked, “By the way, I haven’t seen Mrs. York around lately. Where’s she been?”
“Are you looking for Serenity? Do you need something from her?” Jasmine raised an eyebrow, curious. Carrie already knew that Serenity
had taken Sonny to the Johnson’s home in Annenburg-Mr. Labbe had told her. He had also complained that Carrie hadn’t managed to become close friends with Serenity.
If she had, Serenity could have introduced her to the eldest mistress of the Johnson family and perhaps invited her to FC Manor, where she could meet the child Mr. Labbe had been trying so hard to connect with.
