Submit To The Boss Lucia And August Novel Chapter 829 – She Works for the Rival

Currer Sullen flew into a fury at the sight of Lucia, only fixing on her with the resentful gaze. Returning Currer’s glare with her fearless gaze, Lucia gracefully got herself seated at the other end of the sofa. ‘ What a coincidence Miss Sullen is here too.”

she smiled softly. The eagerness on Reggio Smith’s face froze at her greeting to Currer. Do you know each other?” he asked in a harsh tone as he examined the two women narrowly.

Of course. I’ve known each other for years.” Lucia raised her eyebrows.’ Miss Sullen used to work for Cloud Technology, and we often vied for the projects in the bidding.”

The tension on Reggio’s face was soon replaced by the iconic smile of an educated gentlemen as he introduced the two parties to each other.
Lucia didn’t listen to him carefully, nor was she interested in his introduction.

She snorted when Reggio finally finished his presentation, ‘ It’s not my business what Mr. Smith and Miss Sullen is up to. What I know is I didn’t get due respect, and that leads to my resolve to cancel our cooperation. But why do you invite me in when it’s getting too late?”

Mrs. Adams, I’m terribly sorry but I’m really too busy to attend to your affair today.” explained Reggio. ‘In fact, we are so good friends that you can enter my office freely without any making appointment beforehand.”

His words had Currer and August turn to Lucia in astonishment, though out of different reasons. Yet Lucia only replied to Reggio with a cold sneer, “It seems you’ve forgotten we are no friends since that night when we met in Austos International Hotel.”

‘Lucia…” Reggio hurried to explain in an agitated tone, “that was a mistake. I can make apologies to you if you do mind that matter.” There’s no call for that. I came for the business rather than private apologies.” she rejected coldly.

With a sigh in despair, Reggio exclaimed after a long monologue in some incomprehensible language, “Everyone knows I’m after you. I’ll try my best to win over you heart and make you Mrs. Smith one day.”

A snort came abruptly, which drew the attentions of everyone to August, who had
always been reticent.
What do you mean, Mr. Adams?” Mr. Smith was curious when August, who
seemed indifferent to any affair of others, had suddenly become interested in
gossiping.

With his long legs crossed gracefully, August rested his gaze upon Lucia with a
faint hint of smile in his defiant challenge. “It just surprises me that a divorced
woman could be so popular here as to win the heart of Mr. Smith.”
Lucia pinched her handbag involuntarily as her heart did a flip. Every single word
of August was pricking her heart. She managed to maintain her composure after
taking a deep breath, and said in an aloof tone when she saw August and Currer
holding their hands intimately, “Mr. Adams, please mind your words. I could
actually accuse you of what you said. My husband is still alive and we didn’t
divorce. I’m not a divorced woman in legal terms.”

Staring at her solemnly, August drawled, “Then you are supposed to fulfill the
responsibility of a wife since your marriage is still valid.’
A silent battle was going on as they exchanged their glares. Lucia really wanted
to ask August with what identity he was reminding her of her responsibility, and
for what reason he was staying with Currer like a stranger while intervening in
her affair…Or perhaps he had regained some of the memory?

Reggio went up to explain earnestly, “I can’t care less about your past marriage,
Lucia. If you could accept my courtship, just leave the matter of divorce to me.’
No need to bother.” Lucia replied to Reggio after a quick glance with defiance at
Currer, intentionally or unintentionally. ‘Since Miss Sullen’s boyfriend happens to
come with the same name with my husband, even with the same appearance, I
could just borrow him for my divorce procedure.”

That raised Currer’s hackles. Her glare fixed on Lucia intensely. How she wished
a glare could take the life of people now! She had been so rattled at what
happened just now. Lucia should have gained August’s attention with simple
remarks when Currer had made so great efforts to obtain August.

And August’s
reaction just seemed to be out of jealousy! What was worse, if Lucia managed to
hook up with Reggio, Currer would only fall at Lucia’s disposal, which meant what
Currer had done might be made public. No! Currer exclaimed in her heart.

She
would never allow Lucia to destroy what she had achieved! Currer thus squinted
her eyes with profound resentment, ‘ What a joke, Mrs. Adams. I’m afraid my
boyfriend and I can’t help you on that score. I think you and I could only be rivals
due to difference stances.’

We vie with each other for business, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be friends in
private terms.” Lucia then covered her smiling mouth and turned to Reggio with a
sweet manner, “Look, Miss Sullen is still nursing grudge against me for the
matter of bidding years ago.’

Different from Currer’s sexy and gorgeous style, Lucia’s charm of noble grace
had great appeal to Reggio. Lapsing into an obsessive gaze at her, Reggio
hurried to reply, “Just regard her as your underling if she doesn’t like to be your
friend.”

Hell no!” Currer rose to her feet from the sofa. Her voice sounded so jarring, but
rage had stopped her from minding that. “Mr. Smith, she is a local and you cant
place such a dangerous bomb around you!

August thumped the cup onto the table with a bang, which brought the whole
room into a fraught silence. Currer looked back, just to meet his bloodshot eyes.
She suddenly realized she had said the wrong words, and could only turn to
check the reaction of Reggio, emboldened by the courage from nowhere.

The obsession on Reggio’s face had been replaced by a ruthless look. How he
wanted to take the life of these two women now!
With a quick flash of coldness in her eyes, Lucia exclaimed in her heart how
foolish Currer was getting now.

A matter of top confidentiality like overseas
trading should have been leaked out by Currer when she hadn’t fully grasped the
information about the background of her rival. Reggio would definitely abandon
such a reckless staff.

Suppressing her urge to sneer, Lucia tilted her head at his cold gaze with an
ignorant and innocent manner, “It’s true that I don’t have any plan to go abroad
currently. I won’t immigrate easily since all my property is at home now. But…’
She deliberately paused before she went on with a thoughtful look, “the option is
not totally excluded if I’m going to gain some property abroad.
