Submit To The Boss Lucia And August Novel Chapter 828 – The Original Purpose

Recalling how dark August’s face was getting with rage, Lucia and Janet burst into laughter complacently. What a triumph they’d achieved to fool August! And the next move just depended on Timothy’s performance.

“Currer Sullen quit her job in Cloud Technology for no reason and went to Cardiff two years ago.” Timothy said seriously at his office table. “That’s the very moment when father’s accident happened, and she is with him now. All the facts lead to a conclusion that it is a conspiracy.”

“We should have missed out the important clue that Currer has long joined hands with the Smith family.’ Lucia just felt a shiver of chill going down her spine.

Andshe began to wonder why the organization could be ignorant of this fact when the situations both at home and abroad were so fierce, and the rival had placed so many spies here.

There must be some mightier power behind the scene,” Timothy shook his head thoughtfully while sorting his files, “for Currer and Edmund alone are not enough to provoke so huge a tempest.” Lion Group almost declined two years ago when August was no longer behind the wheel of it.

In fact, the company was not only an intelligence network for the organization, but an important sector to interdict the illegal capital flow. The collapse of the company would definitely result in the rampant behavior of the parties with manipulation, besides losing the cover and source of information.

As two many parties were involved in this game with their otential interests, it was rather difficult to determine their intertwined relationships. I don’t care much either about Griffith or the organization.” Lucia said slowly when she cooled down. “What I ask for is only a life of common people.”

“I’m afraid what you ask for was crossed out from the list the moment you chose
father as your man.” Timothy observed before he passed her the files he’d sorted
out. “You are the only one who could enable the collaboration between Lion
Group and Cardiff Business Coalition.”

Taking the pile of files, Lucia put a frown on her forehead. “Business of
exporting? I’ve never set foot in it and that’s too risky. Plus, the Smith family’s
business is not totally legal. I’m afraid we will end with a Waterloo.”
“Currer works for Cardiff Business Coalition.” said Timothy. “Risky as the plan
sounds, it is the only way we could approach father. We’ll have to delve into the
company if we are to rival Card iff.

To rival Cardiff? Lucia’s face darkened as she examined Timothy with a solemn
tone, Did you accept any mission from the organization without my knowledge?”
Timothy knew that was the last thing Lucia would allow him to do. He nodded
honestly, though steering away from her gaze. “I’m the son of father and you, and
it’s natural for me to be a member of the organization. I don’t think any of us
could just sit by and watch something intolerable.”

It has nothing to do with me what sort of entity the organization is. I don’t give a
damn about that. I won’t partake in it, nor will I allow you to.” Lucia declared
solemnly before she slapped the files down on the table.
Do that acting to Uncle Flynt.” Timothy complained with resignation. “Why don’t
you show me your real intention? If you really don’t care about it at all, you
wouldn’t have taken the adventures again and again even at the price of your
life!”

It was clear to everyone that some missions were against the original purpose of
Lucia’s investigation. But she just toughed them out despite her own will. What
weighed upon her heart was not only the truth behind the accident two years
ago, but the fact that she would never forgive Griffith Organization for taking
August away from her, though she would never admit that.

Timothy’s judgment on Lucia’s mind went right to the point. Her eyes reddening,
Lucia muttered excitedly, “I don’t care about my own life, but I’m not so generous
as to send my beloved ones into the pit of danger!” Timothy and Janet were the
last gleam of hope to her, and she would definitely prevent them from stepping
into the same path of Griffith Organization with August.

With a rare note of worry on his young face, Timothy went up slowly to his mother
and embraced her like a little boy. “Mother, I promise I will only stay behind the
scene like Auntie Sophie, and will never go to the fronts. Whatever my intention
is, I will never risk my life.”

Young as his voice sounded, the steadiness it embodied just reassured Lucia a
lot. It even touched her a little. Wiping her eyes, Lucia braced herself up with a
long sigh and picked up the files on the table. “I’ll go negotiating the cooperation.
But are you sure you could handle the overseas trading?”
Whether I could handle it only depends on your performance, mother.’ Timothy
whispered his idea to Lucia, as a shrew light flickered in his eyes.

Cardiff Business Coalition had just begun to explore its market in Austos City with
a newly built building as the landmark of the city. They obviously came with full
preparation, with staff dispatched from Cardiff directly and cases running after all
the negotiations and contracts were fixed in Cardiff. Everything was operated
orderly in a mature mode.

Having checked the information of the appointment with the counter, Lucia was
led to the office of Reggio Smith. Despite the politeness of his blonde secretary,
Lucia could only wait outside the office. Drinking the coffee she’d refilled, Lucia
just felt bitter both in her stomach and her heart. “I’m even sweating coffee
now…” she grunted to the secretary.
‘I’m sorry, Mrs. Adams, but Mr. Smith is attending some important guests.’
answered the secretary with some embarrassment. “You might have to wait
some more time.”

The uninformative reply only got Lucia to frown. ’He’s been attending to the
guests for several hours! Please stop acting to me!” snapped she.
The secretary hastened to explain courteously, yet Lucia wouldn’t buy into her
words and just acted quite firmly. “Stop temporizing with any pretext. I’m certain
now Mr. Smith has no intention to cooperate with us. I’m not to waste another
second here. Please inform him that the plan for the collaboration is discarded.”

Lucia tried to maintain her composure despite the nervousness inside her. The
collaboration between Cardiff Business Coalition and Lion Group would
eventually bring benefits to both sides despite some necessary sacrifices. Lucia
could only pray the secretary from Cardiff knew the financial stake in this game.
Mrs. Adams…” The secretary finally stopped Lucia, though with a troubled look,
“I’ll try to remind them again. Please wait a second.”

With a secret sigh of relief, Lucia pretended to respond with a displeased snort.
She was soon led into the Mr. Smith’s office by the secretary in a deferential
manner, and the atmosphere seemed to vibrate with tension immediately.

Lucia was not surprised to meet the two “important guests” Mr. Smith had been
attending to. As Timothy had reminded her, many of Smith family’s attempts had
been foiled due to the efforts of the organization against the overseas powers.

Currer and August just came for the latest plan of the moves abroad. And the real
intention to set the appointment on this very date was just to get Lucia to show
up in front of August.
