Submit To The Boss Lucia And August Novel Chapter 814 – Catching Them in Bed
By the time Lucia came downstairs, the teacher had prepared a variety of ties and a whiteboard and was looking at her helplessly.
After the class, Lucia was going to meet Sophie at the Davenport’s as usual, but before she could leave the house, she heard Turner’s anxious voice from the foyer. Sir, you can’t go in there.”
The Adams villa had been attacked several times and the bodyguards at the gate had been either killed or injured. In case of a recurrence, Lucia had removed the bodyguards from the gate after returning from the hill. ‘Is someone trying to break in?”
She strode to the foyer and saw Turner blocking Edmund. “What are you doing here? This is the Adams villa!” she questioned Edmund warily.
Edmund’s eyes lit up when he saw her. He didn’t mean to hurt Turner but took out his phone and said seriously, Lucia, I need a word.”
Lucia was still wary, but Edmund looked so serious, so she motioned for Turner to take him into the living room. She sat gracefully on the couch to keep her distance and asked coldly, Mr. Shea, what is so important that you broke into the Adams villa?”
Edmund looked around discreetly to make sure the maids were uninterested in their conversation before unlocking his phone and handing it to her. “I got this text this morning. I’ve had the number and location deciphered. Mr. Adams is probably walking into a trap.
‘ Lucia’s heart did a complete somersault. It was a screenshot of a WhatsApp chat window. One of the parties was indeed
August because the person spoke exactly as he did. There was a postscript at the bottom of the text. “Lucia is yours after tonight.”
Lucia tried to remain calm and stared at Edmund suspiciously. “Thank you for bringing me the new, but August doesn’t walk into traps easily, and…“ She
paused and narrowed her eyes slightly. “Why should I believe you?” “Am I that bad in your heart?” Edmund gave a wry smile.
Lucia didn’t completely disbelieve the text. She just didn’t want to believe Edmund. In fact, she was all twisted up inside. Edmund said in an injured voice, “I admit I like you, but I’ve never used despicable means to compete with August for you. I can compete with him.
I’ll never hurt him or threaten him with you.“ “It depends. Thank you for telling me this. Please go back,” Lucia replied. She immediately texted Burton to check August’s schedule, but she was told that no one knew where August was.
Edmund sat on the couch with a frown. He didn’t force Lucia to believe him but reminded her softly, “I know my confession of love made a big impact on you, but this time it’s different. I’ll wait outside and help you if you need me when you find out the truth.”
Lucia watched him leave the living room and immediately went into the study to
find August’s recent schedule. She had to find it as soon as possible to reassure
herself that Edmund had lied to her. While rummaging through the folders, her
wrist touched the mouse. The monitor glowed faintly blue and then the screen lit
up and a WhatsApp chat window caught her eye.
What was so important that August hadn’t turned off his computer?
Lucia immediately looked at the screen and found that the other party was
Currer. She could even imagine Currer’s mushy voice.
The messages had obviously been censored. The rest of them matched the
screenshot she had seen on Edmund’s phone. Without further thought, she
immediately left the Adams villa and got into Edmund’s car.
There was a light knock on the door of Room 1608 of Hilchey Hotel. The scantily
clad Currer opened the door slowly before spraying sweet perfume on every
corner of the room. She blushed at the sight of the handsome face she had
longed for and grabbed August’s sleeve and pulled him into the room in a hurry.
August tried hard to hide the disgust in his eyes.
Currer glanced at the wall clock and asked worriedly, “Does Lucia know you’re
here?”
“Give me what you found and I’ll take care of the rest,” August replied
indifferently.
However, Currer refused him. “No, it’s very dangerous here right now. You cant
leave Lucia alone. Maybe even you will be set up,” she said, taking out her
phone and playing a recording.
Soon an electronically modified male voice interspersed with crashing sounds
said, “You just need to get a room. Lucia will definitely find an excuse to come
out today. Don’t worry.” Then another strange male voice said, “Boss, could Ms.
Mitchell be lying to you? She’s not as innocent as she seems.” The
electronically modified voice snorted. “It’s not the first time she’s found an excuse
to get out. Just do as I say.”
The recording stopped abruptly. Currer walked up to grab August’s sleeve and
explained nervously, “I found out a little bit about the anonymous message today
and happened to find this recording.”
August stared at her delicate face with sharp eyes and snorted. “Really? What
are the odds of that happening?”
“I…” Currer averted her eyes and lowered her voice. “I just don’t want you to
argue. I don’t want Lucia to be used.”
“So?” August suddenly grabbed Currer’s neck with murderous intent and shoved
me up against the wall. He said each word slowly in a cold voice, You’re going to
help me catch them in bed? This game may have to end early.’
“August…” Currer’s face quickly turned red. She kicked her legs hard and tried to
prise his hand from his neck. It was clear that August suspected her. She and
Edmund’s plan was about to be exposed…
